Vendor announces GSM upgrade deal with m:tel.

Nokia Siemens Networks said Wednesday it has received an order to upgrade the networks of telecom operator m:tel in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nokia Siemens will expand and upgrade m:tel’s GSM radio network and mobile soft-switching core network, and ensure efficient and rapid roll-out through professional implementation services.

GSM is a second-generation mobile phone standard.

The network equipment vendor, a joint venture between Finland’s Nokia Corp. and Germany’s Siemens AG (SI), will also provide services including its Service Assurance Solution under the terms of the contract.
