VoIP Termination 101

Endstream Communications, a next-generation carrier offering VoIP and telecommunications solutions offers inbound dial, toll-free origination and termination as well as calling card services for the wholesale, enterprise and middle markets.

To find out more about VoIP termination and the company’s solutions, I interviewed Endstream’s CEO Erik Levitt recently.

Levitt described VoIP termination as, “the ability to complete a call over a private or public IP network.”

In addition, Levitt said successful VoIP termination requires that, “both the customer and carrier have VoIP-enabled equipment capable of taking a digital or analog signal and translating it into IP.”

Typically, IP enabled carriers such as Endstream can provide equipment for the customer if needed and, according to Levitz, all that’s required after that is a broadband Internet connection or private IP connection from the VoIP carrier.

Not only is VoIP termination a possibility, but Levitz noted that in order to be successful, and for a VoIP network to work properly, the key is a reliable Internet or data connection that will ensure quality.
